When I was Two...

So far (for the past 2 weeks) having a 2 year old is pretty great. Jonah is no longer plagued by painful teething, he understands some cause and effect, and his mantra to himself is "There's no crying." Way better than being a one year old- so far :)

Jonah went to the pediatrician for his 2 year old appointment last week. He weighed 28 lbs 11 oz and was 34 1/2 inches (50th percentiles). He can run, climb, jump, and swim (with a little help). We got him a tricycle for his birthday, but he can't really work it by himself yet. He speaks in sentences most of the time and can answer simple questions a lot of the time. He knows so many words, and just picks up more and more every day. He is blowing us away, and cracking us up with everything he says. His two questions we have taught him by rote are "Q: Who made you? A: God" and "Q:How old are you? A: two" which he mixes up all the time. It is both funny and embarrasing when someone asks him how old he is and he screams, "GOD!" It sounds like he's saying "GOD! I can't believe people keep asking me this!"

Jonah is getting so fun to play with. He is doing a lot of pretend play. He will pretend to cook and then make us pretend eat whatever he is cooking. The other day he told me he was cooking Lemonade, but I didn't have the heart to tell him you don't really cook that. The boy is such a funny goofball, he will try to play tricks on us and he recognizes when his funny faces and things he says make us laugh and tell us, "I funny, Mommy!". He says something new and crazy every day so he is just so fun to be with.

Jonah is even doing pretty well with potty training! He only has accidents at home occasionally, but hasn't mastered it at school yet. We think he gets distracted by playing and forgets/decides not to go. I bought him some new Diego underwear (Diego is the current OBSESSION) and told him if he gets it wet we have to take it off, so I think that is helping!

Overall, we are having a ball. We definitely have our hands full, but they are full of good things.
